Tailored support and 1-2-1 attention comes with every class, and with time for questions about all things puppies, you’ll never leave wondering!
In our puppy classes, everyone is treated as individuals. So, if you’re completely new to having a puppy and training, you’re an experienced puppy owner wanting to refresh their knowledge, or you’re a fellow canine professional and would like to take advantage of the controlled socialisation opportunities a well-run class brings, we can cater for all abilities.
Learning is made easy with step-by-step methods and an accompanying workbook of exercises, tips and tutorial videos that supports you throughout your course and beyond.
And no need to worry you’ve got everything you need at the first lesson, you’ll be provided with a Lucy Ward Dog Training treat pouch and a selection of food options to choose from to get you started in your exciting training journey with your puppy.
We also offer our sought after Puppy Social Hour sessions. These stand alone sessions take place in a stimulating secure environment where we can really hone in on the art of correctly socialising your puppy with other pups and people.
This isn’t just a puppy play date, this is an opportunity to learn how to manage social situations appropriately, learn to read your puppy’s body language, and be confident to take your puppy to different locations knowing you have the right strategies at hand to suit your puppy’s personality.

Lucy was lovely!
She was so very patient with the puppies and us (the owners). She went into everything with great detail and all the information was followed up via email so if we missed anything or just needed reminding it was all their to read.
I would thoroughly recommend the Lucy Ward Dog Training for you and your puppy.”

Frequently Asked Questions
My puppy won't be fully vaccinated at the start of the course, is this ok?
How old does my puppy need to be to attend puppy classes?
There is no lower age limit to join puppy classes. However, your puppy needs to be no older than 24 weeks at the start date of their course.
Puppies can tip over the 24 week mark during the course, we just ask that they’re no older than that when they start.
If your puppy will be over 24 weeks, we have dog training foundation classes that would be a perfect starting place for you, and covers a similar curriculum in an outdoor location.
Please head to the dog training classes page for more information and to book.
Can I bring anyone else along to do the training with me?
Can I bring my children along to the classes?
In principle, yes, it’s lovely to watch young handlers learn how to train their puppy, and it’s great for the other pups to experience being around children as part of their socialisation.
However, your child must be able to sit quietly when exercises or topics are being explained so as not to disrupt the learning for the other participants on the course.
I can't make one of the classes, can my partner/friend bring my puppy to the class instead?
Where are the puppy classes held?
How many puppies are in each class?
Will topics such as toilet training and sleeping through the night be covered?
Time is always given at the beginning of each class to ask any puppy related quetions. You’ll also receive a training workbook which gives you top tips on these topics too.
However, if you’re having specific difficulties with things at home or you’d like some dedicated time to ask questions and receive more personalised support, you’ll find having a 1-2-1 session most beneficial.
My puppy is very shy, will a group class be ok for them?
It’s very very rare that a group class isn’t able to help a shy puppy come out of their shell or build their confidence in seeing other puppies and people.
My puppy isn't fully toilet trained and we're still having lots of accidents indoors. Is it ok to come to the indoor classes?
We’ve got special cleaning products to easily clean up any accidents, and if we spot any ‘needing the toilet’ behaviour from your puppy before you do, you can quickly whizz them outside so they can toilet on the grass.
