Play and Motivation Workshop, Handler Space: 1pm, 13th September 2024

September 13, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
£55.00

Lucy Ward Dog Training hosts Jenny Richards from Deliverance Dogs for her fab workshop on Play and Motivation.

Who is the workshop for?
Anyone! If you’d like to build more connection with your puppy or dog in training, or you take part in any dog sport such as mantrailing, agility or protection sports… this workshop is for you! This workshop builds on your relationship with your dog and how to create strong foundations that you can apply to any type of training or dog sports. You can work on your toy play techniques, food delivery and how to build drive and focus to both. Jenny focuses on the foundations of your relationship with your dog and adding this to food and toy delivery.

Dogs are worked one at a time so reactive dogs are very welcome. You can come along as a handler and work your dog, or as a spectator to learn from observing.

Please note – as dogs are worked one at a time, your dog will need to rest in your vehicle in the secure car park when it’s not their turn. You’re very welcome to bring someone along to sit with them, or sit with them yourself.

How old does my dog need to be?
Any age, from newly vaccinated puppies up to golden oldies. There is no lower or upper age limit. Jenny can adjust the training to any age and ability level.

My dog isn’t toy motivated, can I still come along?
Yes absolutely, Jenny can work with you and your dog using what ever motivates them the most, be that food or toy play. She’ll help you to get the most from your dogs favourite reward, and help to further build your bond and relationship.

About Jenny
Jenny’s approach is based on bringing relationship and play into training. She believes it should be the foundation for ALL Dog Sport training. Her main reason for taking part in Dog Sport is to strengthen this relationship. It is important to make sure we are actively using this approach in our sport training.

Jenny competed to the top of Working Trials with her Australian Shepherd, Alf. He was also the first Aussie ever to qualify IGP 1 in England. With her Malinois Del she recently qualified at the FMBB World Championships. They were the second ever team from England to have achieved a qualifying score at this competition. They also came 33rd out of over 100 dogs. The pair then competed at the FCI World Championships where they also had a good trial and earned a qualifying score. She also has 3 youngsters. Kali, Bart, and Kevin, in training.
